ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Gabriela Lima is an Argentinian writer, director and producer, with an international business background (MBA).

Her short film, Doris’s Flight was selected for multiple film festivals.

She has been partnering with producers in Boston, Kansas City and Buenos Aires.

You Won’t Die is her first feature film, inspired by her training in “The Ancient Greek Hero in 24 hours” done with Professor Gregory Nagy (Harvard University through edX).

She has lived in Argentina, Switzerland, England and currently resides in Kansas City.

NARRATIVE SUMMARY:

Demi, a recently abandoned housewife, decides to have an abortion after finding herself pregnant by a random guy. But her successful sister, Rose,  who can’t have children, begs her to have the baby for her. Demi agrees to have the baby for her sister and she and Rose move to Belgium.

During the pregnancy, the sisters reconnect and, at first, feel closer than ever. But when Demi is ready to call part of the deal off, deciding not to help raise the baby, she worries that her sister will never care about her again. The baby is born and the sisters split up. But, now, Demi finds herself wondering whether she is ever going to be happy again.
