Dec 5th Bill Holland Returns with a Rewrite of TWO ROADS TO RIVA
December 5, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$10.00We start off December with a rewrite from Bill Holland of TWO ROADS TO RIVA. We hope you can join us virtually on Monday, December 5th for this exciting review!
Logline: In the waning months of World War II, two ski troopers – one an American seeking redemption for having accidentally killed his fraternal twin, the other a secretly anti-Nazi Austrian determined to bring his boyish recruits safely home – are propelled into a tragic confrontation atop a mountain in northern Italy.
Project Type: Historical
About the Author: Bill Holland started writing screenplays back in 1978, and life has never been quite the same. After seeing Breaking Away, he became obsessed with getting a similar movie made, featuring the sport of cross-country ski racing. Sometime in the mid-90s he ran a script through HSSW entitled Fire in the Blood that explored the issue of blood-doping on the international race circuit.
He began writing TWO ROADS TO RIVA back in 1999 when a Boston law entertainment firm gave him a shot at developing a script based on a memoir by a 10th Mountain Division vet they’d bought the screen rights to. The script made the rounds in Hollywood, but interest in Greatest Generation stories dried up in the aftermath of 9/11. Since then, Bill has further researched his subject and has made more revisions than he can count. Thanks largely to feedback from HSSW, it keeps getting better and better.
Bill, his wife, their two daughters, and their three goats reside in Freeport, Maine.
