On 5/11 We Look at 3 Short Projects by Writer/Filmmaker Paul Falcone

$10.00On Monday, May 11th we’ll review three shorts by Paul Falcone. Two are brand new sci-fi scripts, while one is a re-edit of his AI generated film, THE OVAL PORTRAIT, based on an Edgar Allan Poe short story.
As always, we’ll meet virtually from 7:00 – 9:00 EST.
LOGLINE FOR THE OVAL PORTRAIT: In 1875 A wounded duelist spends the night in a haunted house and finds a new appreciation of life and love.
SERIES LOGLINE: After an interstellar war the Planet Rangers team has to rebuild itself and keep the quadrant safe.The two short scripts (Parts I and II) are for a possible YouTube series, PLANET RANGERS.
Tonally they are inspired by a 1950’s Kids SciFi series, FIREBALL XL5, the adult comic book/movie BARBARELLA (from the 60’s) and SOUTH PARK.
PART I – PILOT: The Planet Rangers investigate a missile of unknown origin enroute to wipe out a primitive civilization.
PART II – NOT A SNAKE: The crew of the Apogee seek out the survivors of another Planet Rangers spaceship and find a world filled with giant deadly monsters.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Paul Falcone has been making movies since he was 6 years old under the tutelage of his mother film maker/teacher Yvonne Andersen. At 14 he made a COSMIC CRYSTAL, a science fiction movie featuring simple special effects and was featured on the kids TV show ZOOM.His college senior project, made at RISD, was a finalist for the Student Academy Awards in 1988.
He currently works at Wellesley Media: Community TV for the town of Wellesley.
Most recently, Paul has been collaborating with Writer/Director, Mari SanGiovanni as Cinematographer/Editor on THE SIBLING RULE and RETREAT, two live action shorts. RETREAT has won over 22 prizes in film festivals, including for Cinematography and Editing.
