Welcome to All Old and New Members of HSSW:
We have a full roster of scripts and some exciting workshops/presentations scheduled for this fall and we think it’s going to be a great semester – starting with this feature.
As of now, HSSW is still meeting virtually so you can participate from the comfort of your home, as we wait for our vaccination rate to rise and hopefully beat back this virus.
For those unfamiliar with our process, you attend as many meetings as you want and the dues per meeting is $10.00, half the price it was when we met in-person.
Anyone who is a full-time student pays only $5.00. Payments can be made through Zelle (prefered) or Paypal – see below. You may sign up for the meeting here or at the
website. We are then notified and you are put on the Zoom list to participate. The Zoom invitation goes out on the day of the review. We respectfully ask that you sign up by noon on that day.
HSSW has worked long and hard to create a new
website which we hope you’ll check out. This is where we’ll promote our authors and events and attract new writers from anywhere on the globe. I am also now writing a blog which you can view there, but I hope you’ll subscribe to it.

We will be reviewing Rick Groleau’s feature, Breaking Glass
LOGLINE: Determined to attend a film festival held at a remote fishing village in Maine, a down-and-out filmmaker sets out on an unsettling road trip and finds out who he isn’t.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Rick Groleau is a multimedia producer and filmmaker based in the Boston area. Since 2013 he has directed and produced five micro-budget films that have screened at 20+ regional film festivals, winning awards that include Best Feature, Best Director, Best Maine Film, Best Short, and Best of Festival awards. Two of these films have been broadcast on Vermont and Maine public television. Rick is originally from Livermore Falls, Maine. [Note: you may recall we screened Rick’s short Type Cast last semester.]
