Bob Tremblay Presents his 20th Script – “Merrilee, We Rock” on Monday, 11/5

Next week we have the return of one of our most prolific screenwriters – Bob Tremblay. How does he do it, while having the day job of 3 reporters and an editor and the night job of a film critic?

From Bob: Here is my script, Merrilee, We Rock. Yes, it’s way too long. Clearly, the group’s challenge is to get this script down to a more manageable size. If I had more time, I could probably do it myself, but I have trouble “killing my babies.”

The Logline: A teenage girl tries to reconnect with her rock star mother who refuses to acknowledge the girl’s existence.

About the Author: Bob Tremblay is an editor and the film critic for the MetroWest Daily News in Framingham. He is also a member of the Boston Society of Film Critics and the Harvard Square Scriptwriters. He has been a member of the latter group for almost 30 years. During that time, he has written more than 20 feature-length screenplays in multiple genres.

A short film he co-wrote, The 6th Amendment, was screened at the Woods Hole Film Festival on Cape Cod, the American Film Institute’s film festival in Los Angeles and the Boston International Film Festival, where it won Best Dramatic Short.

One of his screenplays, Jack the Messiah, was a CineStory competition finalist.
