Novelist and award-winning-filmmaker Mari SanGiovanni is back with her latest screenplay which she hopes to shoot this fall. So, she’s looking forward to a great crit. that will hopefully make her latest draft even better!

Two women make an instant connection at a women’s retreat, only to find out that they are connected to a recent tragedy.
Mari SanGiovanni is the author of the popular trilogy of rom-com novels: Greetings From Jamaica Wish You Were Queer, Camptown Ladies, and 80% Done With Straight Girls. Nominated for a LAMBDA award and two Golden Crown Literary awards, Mari is the winner of the Golden Crown Literary Award for Best Traditional / Contemporary Romance.
Her novels have received positive reviews from Advocate magazine, AfterEllen.com, On Our Backs, and from radio personality Howard Stern. Mari has produced two audiobooks from the series, and her 4th novel, Liddy-Jean, Marketing Queen will be published in winter 2023.
Mari SanGiovanni’s original screenplay The Sibling Rule, a micro-budget, proof of concept feature was produced and directed by her, featuring Boston actors Bren McElroy, Shannon Paradis, Jeff MacKinnon, Ella Goldberg, and Mattia Farmer. The film’s cinematographer/editor was Paul Falcone, HSSW Board Member. The film has won Sydney World Fest for Best LGBTQ; Best LGBTQ Short and Best Women Short from the LA Independent Shorts Awards; was winner of Liverpool Indie Awards; won Best Short Screenplay Her Vision Film Festival NY, and was a Finalist for Red Movie Awards France. It was also a Semi-finalist in the LA Film Awards, and an official selection at 5 other film festivals.
Mari is an alumnus of RI School of Design. As noted above, her short screenplay Retreat is scheduled to be shot in November 2023, with Paul Falcone again serving as cinematographer.
