Local Award-Winner Gwen Callahan’s First Foray Into a Full Length Feature Script, Monday, March 13th

Come on out next Monday to honor the winner of our Best Emerging Filmmaker Award from the Different Faces, Different Voices Film Festival Flicks4Chicks contest of 2016 – Gwen Callahan.

We will be reviewing her latest script effort – Crazy Grannie’s Keeper.

hssw gwenABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Gwen has spent over 50 years in the performing arts, in jobs from actor to stage director, for many different venues and professional theaters.  Her acting chops have taken her from films as varied as John Stimpson’s Last Hours in Suburbia to the silent thriller Out of the Night.  She is a member of Equity and SAG/ AFTRA and has additionally worked on numerous other features. She has also been privileged to work with special needs groups as she writes, directs and produces fundraisers using the clients as actors.

Her experience in all of these arenas prompted her to try her hand at screenwriting. Her short, A Perfect Match was her first foray into writing, producing, directing and acting and was submitted to the Flicks4Chicks Short Film Contest in 2016 where it garnered her a Best Emerging Filmmaker Award.  Shortly thereafter the film also earned her a similar award at the Shawna Shea Film Festival. Gwen wrote her first feature screenplay in 2014, Crazy Grannie’s Keeper which will be the subject of the HSSW review next Monday.
