Melissa Burch and her writing partner Natasha Charles’ pilot script, “Feline Strategy” for their dramedy series, The Village It Took is up for review on Monday, October 19th.
Their log line: Welcome to CounterPoint Village: where a histrionic, tequila drinking young woman moves into a community of eccentric idealists, searching for somewhere to call home in a place where strangers become friends and neighbors family…whether we want them to or not.
Melissa has a long background as a filmmaker for CBS and BBC, and produced a national public television series in 1995 (entitled Women in Limbo Presents). She has had her news stories featured not only in The New York Times, but also broadcast on CBS, BBC, ZDF, and NHK, among other places. In addition, her new memoir My Journey Through War and Peace is available for pre-order on her website. There is also information on her new feature script, written by her and her writing partner, and previously reviewed at HSSW, The Lion of Panjshir: Embedded with the Moujahedeen.
PLEASE NOTE: Script review to be held at Harvard Square Script Writers new location in Cambridge at 66 Winthrop Street, a short distance from Harvard Square. Dues are $15. Come join us for the inaugural meeting in our fantastic new space!
