Steve Erickson returns to HSSW after a long hiatus to present a script adaptation of his play Lexington Green. It explores how a band of rebellious colonists find themselves suddenly plunged into a war they are poorly equipped to fight.
LOGLINE:
In twenty-four hours a village must make a stand, igniting the war for American independence.
Stephen makes his living as a landlord/property manager, but having completed coursework on a Doctorate in Early American History, Stephen is a historian by training and also the author of two books. Stephen aspires to be a professional screenwriter, specializing in historical themes.
Stephen co-authored the critically acclaimed history book, Boon Island: A True Story of Mutiny, Shipwreck and Cannibalism, which is based on a scholarly article he published in the New England Quarterly. This story became the basis for his screenplay, We, Who Are Only Sailors, which was a semi-finalist in Finish Line’s 2019 screenwriting contest.
Stephen is also the author of a political book, What Would Madison Do? The Journey Progressives and Conservatives Must Make Together. This book is partially about Stephen’s personal campaign to save America. If it were turned into a screenplay, it would be a farce.
In 2007 Stephen wrote and produced Lexington Green as a stage play performed at the Players’ Ring Theater, in Portsmouth, NH. Since then, it has been rewritten as a screenplay.
Stephen is currently working on a pilot set in the Middle Ages.
Stephen Erickson lives in Portsmouth NH with his wife and three sons, ages 14, 13, and 7.
