“Mortal Touch” Explores One of Cinema’s More Compelling Topics – Vampirism

Rowan Morrigan spent 22 years in LA as an editor and director.  After returning to New England a few years ago, he was in search of an ideal feature film to produce that might have sequel possibilities. Enter Innana Arthen, writer of a series of New England-based vampire novels.

Next Monday they are presenting the screenplay Mortal Touch (based on the novel of the same name), as a collaboration. Inanna is the screenwriter and Rowan has been the creative producer on this project.

Inanna Arthen-Vyrdolak (http://inannaarthen.com) is an artist, actor, freelance book designer and author of The Vampires of New England Series (http://vampiresofnewengland.com): Mortal Touch (2007), The Longer The Fall (2010), and All The Shadows of The Rainbow (2013). Book 4 is currently in progress. Inanna is a lifelong scholar of vampire folklore, fiction and media who created the non-fiction vampire studies website By Light Unseen (http://bylightunseen.net) in 1997. Since 2007 she has run By Light UnseenMedia (http://bylightunseenmedia.com), an independent press dedicated to publishing vampire fiction and nonfiction by U.S. and Canadian authors.

Mortal Touch (the novel) has sold some 5,000 copies, has netted its author around $25,000 to date and is still By Light Unseen Media’s best selling title. It has now been adapted into Mortal Touch (the screenplay).

Producer Bio:
Rowan Morrigan (http://rowan.us/) has been in the entertainment industry for 22 years in Los Angeles before returning to Massachusetts in 2013 to pursue a career as a creative producer in feature film. Rowan has worked as a film editor and director on a variety of indy projects. He has completed two programs in film studies at UCLA. He has been a member of Harvard Square Script Writers for about 25 years and is a producer on two current films: a short titled Our Father and a feature film titled Last Call at Murray’s. He recently wrote an article for the HSSW website: Unveiling the Mysteries of Attending Cannes for the First Time.
