DETAILS about Found in Space:
Logline:
When a man whose life is in shambles finds himself in a seemingly perfect alternate reality, he has to figure out how to return home – or whether he wants to at all.
Genre(s): Drama; Sci-fi; Fantasy
Jack Amsler is an actor and writer originally from the Boston area.
Jack’s beginnings in the arts were humble, starting with simple high-school drama classes and writing poetry in the ‘notes’ app in his iPhone when inspiration struck. This passion blossomed, and that very same poetry served as the inspiration for his first screenplay, Found in Space (the same piece being submitted for review today).
Jack is currently in post-production on a project he co-wrote, produced, co-directed, and acted in – a feature length film made with a fellow classmate, while studying at Occidental College. This experience, serving in multiple roles on a production, proved to be a fantastic learning opportunity, and has influenced his more recent work.
His projects have included the leading role in a feature length film this past September, multiple short-film screenplays, and a full length script that his mother [HSSW member Shannon Quinn] deemed “too inappropriate to attach his name to.”
With diverse interests, Jack hopes to explore any and every genre in both acting and writing. Jack aims to create art, no matter the shape or size, and hopes to create things people can appreciate and find beauty within.
