On Monday, 1/26 We Take a Deep Dive Into AI and What’s Possible in Cinema, as Explained by Filmmaker Paul Falcone

January 26 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$10.00

We’ll review two short film adaptations made by writer/filmmaker Paul Falcone who used a variety of AI and post production tools to create them.

This is an incredible opportunity to see several snapshots into our possible future as filmmakers. Is it terrifying or exhilarating? How much human creativity is required to produce projects at this scale? You decide.

Due to privacy concerns, only those who sign up will receive links to the films, as well as the Zoom link to discuss them thereafter.
Plus, offer Paul feedback before he submits his finals to festivals.
As always, the meeting will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 PM EST.
FROM EARTH TO THE MOON is a loose adaptation of the novel by Jules Verne, reimagined as a short black and white, silent movie.

Genre: Science Fiction
Logline: A wealthy munitions owner and his scientist wife build a spacecraft to fly to the moon in 1850, with the two of them being the first astronauts.
THE OVAL PORTRAIT is based on a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. Full color with VO.
Genre: Gothic Horror/Romance
Logline: A wounded duelist takes refuge in a deserted house in the woods, only to find it’s not as deserted as he thought.
About The Author/Filmmaker: Paul Falcone has been making movies since he was 6 years old under the tutelage of his mother film maker/teacher Yvonne Andersen. At 14 he made a COSMIC CRYSTAL, a science fiction movie featuring simple special effects and was featured on the kids TV show “ZOOM.”

His college senior project, made at RISD, was a finalist for the Student Academy Awards in 1988.

He currently works at Wellesley Media: Community TV for the town of Wellesley.

Most recently, Paul has been collaborating with Writer/Director, Mari SanGiovanni as Cinematographer/Editor on THE SIBLING RULE and RETREAT, two live action shorts. RETREAT has won over 22 prizes in film festivals, including for Cinematography and Editing.
