Monday, May 12th we have our penultimate review of the semester – a treatment for the feature, UNITY by new member John Dickason. Treatments are a GREAT way to test out your concept before evolving the story to a full screenplay.

As always, we will meet virtually from 7:00 – 9:00 PM EST.

GENRE: Drama/Coming of Age Story

THEME: “I am not what happened to me; I am who I choose to become.” – Carl Jung

LOGLINE: A fractured young man with traumatic memories of a past life as a World War II pilot must master self-doubt and break from his abusive father, in order to avoid self-destruction and become a whole person.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: John has been a primary care and infectious disease doctor in the Boston area for 20 years.

His hobbies include playing tennis, playing tenor sax in a soul/R&B band, watching movies, and doing creative writing.

He is a proponent of Jungian psychology.

He lives in Chelmsford with his partner Alison, and their 2 dogs and 2 cats.

John lost his wife of 23 years (Huong Nguyen) to ovarian cancer in 2023. This screenplay is one method of processing that loss.
