About the Author: April Lecours is a filmmaker, director, and editor with a passion for bringing stories to life through compelling visuals.After earning her B.S. in Wildlife Science from Oregon State University, April attended Vancouver Film School in Vancouver, B.C., where she fell in love with visual storytelling. Hoping to combine her love of wildlife with film, she moved to Boston to work with RubinTarrant Productions, where as a production assistant she contributed to programming for the BBC, Animal Planet, and PBS.
As a production manager at PAX-TV, April provided high-concept video production and editing for clients including Disney, Universal Studios, American Airlines, Segway, and the Ireland Tourist Board, traveling nationally and internationally to create original programming.
April later started her own production company, Global Trek Productions, where she built a traveling studio — complete with lighting, robotic cameras, and a switcher — and produced over 1,000 public service shows for ION Media across 14 markets.
April’s love of film and storytelling continues today as a director, editor, and writer. She directed and edited the short film THE DINNER which was selected for multiple film festivals, and edited the sci-fi feature ATOMIC POOP: A LOVE STORY now streaming on Tubi.
