Charlie Lyons is a former  DA who switched sides and became a defense attorney. Now, he also uses his expertise to craft scripts that grapple with many of the issues he’s encountered over the course of his career.

On Monday, November 6th we’ll take a look at his latest effort – a TV pilot entitled Criminal.
The meeting is offered in a hybrid format from 6:00 – 8:00 PM EST with an in-person meeting  option at the Foundry Arts Center in Cambridge MA or via Zoom.
Logline: When his powerful mother, who’s the District Attorney, orders him to do so, a grieving, true-believer prosecutor investigates the killing of a black man by a police detective to determine whether the detective should be charged with murder.

Genre(s): Crime Drama; Procedural

About the Author:  Charlie Lyons is a criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor. His cases include everything from trespassing and drunk driving to attempted murder and home invasion. He’s hitchhiked across the USA, was a laborer, and brick and stone mason. And taught English in Japan. Drove a semi truck. Was a roadie. A drummer. And once yelled at Johnny Rotten to get the f*ck out of his way (Mr. Rotten did so with a smile).

Recently, he directed Fiasco off-off Broadway at The Secret Theatre in NYC.
