October 16, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$10.00Please join us on October 16th to review a re-write of Will Holland’s TV pilot CITY OF MASKS, based on the novel by author Daniel Hecht. The pilot is part of a planned limited series entitled THE CREE BLACK CHRONICLES.
This meeting will be held virtually from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Any interested party who does not already have the script and the first season bible may request one from admin@hsswriters.com. We welcome new members!
LOGLINE FOR CITY OF MASKS: A female investigator of paranormal phenomena goes to New Orleans to unearth–against fierce family opposition–the truth that will banish a ghost imperiling her client’s sanity and possibly her life. Equally daunting, however, is the challenge of freeing herself from the “ghost” of her dead husband.
GENRE: Psychological thriller/horror
TYPE OF PROJECT: TV series pilot
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Will Holland started writing screenplays back in 1978, and life has never been quite the same. After seeing Breaking Away, he became obsessed with getting a similar movie made, featuring the sport of cross-country ski racing. Sometime in the mid-90s he ran a script through HSSW entitled Fire in the Blood that explored the issue of blood-doping on the international race circuit.
He subsequently spent many years honing a script about the World War II 10th Mountain Division (with great input from HSSW) that became a semi-finalist in the True Story/Public Domain competition and went on to be rated among the top 10% of all scripts on Coverfly.
