Here’s an invitation to kick back, be entertained, and see what happens when a script is brought to life at a table read.
In this case, the actors will be reading the 30 minute comedy Next Great Hire, intended as a spoof on reality TV and a satiric look at the very tough odds facing recent college grads looking for work. Sketch comedy.
This is version II and the author, Genine Tillotson, threw out a huge net to find comedians who might fit the bill for this reading. Now, we’ll look at how they interpret their character(s) and when they resort to improv to improve the humor and stakes.
After the reading, we’ll debrief and discuss what works and what doesn’t.
