Join us on Monday, November 23rd, for an interactive seminar in which Emerson College Screenwriting Certificate Program Coordinator, Barry Brodsky, will be demonstrating how to utilize the 36 Dramatic Situations in order to help build and/or expand your plot and trigger endless story possibilities.
First put forward by the great Italian playwright Carlo Gozzi (1720-1806), and more recently popularized by Screenwriting consultant and author Jeff Kitchen, the 36 Dramatic Situations has become a dynamic writing tool for screenwriters everywhere. In this interactive workshop, you will learn to use the 36 Dramatic Situations in order to further expand your stories and create solid, concrete plots.
People who register will receive an electronic handout and be instructed to watch two films (Crash and The Verdict) prior to the workshop, though you’re welcome to attend even if you don’t. As Barry, himself, says, “It’s impossible to participate in this seminar and not come out with ideas to use for your current and/or future projects!”
The workshop will be held at 66 Winthrop Street in Cambridge, at 7:00 p.m. Dues are $20.
If you’re interested in becoming a part of our weekly script reviews (and workshops) and are not already an HSSW member, please write to genine@hsswriters.com to receive the scripts electronically one week ahead of time.
