On Monday, 10/21 Two Long-Time Authors Showcase Their New Pilot “Dissecting Rod Serling”

Next Monday, we’ll review the pilot and bible for a new series, Dissecting Rod Serling.

Logline:

While dissecting Rod Serling’s cadaver in Gross Anatomy Lab in 1975, four first-year medical students open a connection to a paranormal world releasing powers that infect them and change their perception of reality.

About Author Eafat Newton:

After earning her MBA at Vanderbilt University, Eafat worked as an account manager at a leading multi-national market research firm.

Eager to explore human behavior beyond data analysis, she turned to creative writing and completed a Screenwriting Certificate from Emerson College.

Her work includes five feature scripts and four television pilots–including a Bronze Prize winner for TV Sitcom Pilot in the 2018 Page Screenwriting Competition.

She’s been a member of HSSW since 2013 and has written two scripts with Joel.

When not writing, Eafat works as co-producer for Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival.

And while she currently lives in Cincinnati, her heart remains in MA.

About Other Author Joel Karlinsky:

Joel is a retired Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Boston University and has been a member of the Harvard Square Script Writers for over fourteen years.

He has written twelve features, mostly comedic. Most have done well in screenwriting contests.

Dissecting Rod Serling, co-written with Eafat, is his first foray in writing for TV.

Brisket, also co-written with Eafat, is currently a semi-finalist in this year’s Final Draft Big Break Contest.

Joel enjoys collecting first editions and eating oysters accompanied by a dry martini, but not at the same time.
