About the Author: Phil Kling is a retired real estate attorney born and raised near New York City. In the 1970’s, while attending law school, he wrote comedy skits for a New York bases TV show, Take Five, starring Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. He also contributed story ideas to an early 1990’s sitcom, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose.

He grew up a few blocks from Carl and Rob Reiner in New Rochelle, N.Y., at a time when The Dick Van Dyke Show was popular. That show, and the Rob Petrie character, have always been an inspiration.
